Videos Of The Week 13.02.2012

Welcome to another edition of Videos of the Week, where we round up the best online videos on the web. As it is the season of love there are a few Valentines Day themed videos in this weeks’ edition, as well as some pretty risqué video content, a few brilliant brand ads and one pretty bizarre competition.

What’s Time-Lapse In Russian?

We really are suckers for time-lapse video, but when you come across a great one it’s hard not to shout about it. This brilliant time-lapse of Moscow, Russia captures the city in a way that’s been seldom seen before. This time-lapse is filled with a vast selection of powerful and vibrant imagery, and one killer soundtrack. Well worth a watch!

Infinity List Experience Freedom

We’d like to class ourselves as daredevils of sorts. Collectively we’ve snowboarded, surfed, skateboarded, rock climbed, abseiled, fought a pack of wild Tigers and dared to tackle a Vindaloo or two. Although we’ve never quite taken to adrenaline-fuelled antics like the chaps at Infinity List have. Not only are their base jumping displays insane, but their cinematography is absolutely phenomenal.

Okay, so we didn’t tackle a pack of wild Tigers, but we’re still daredevils…sort of.

The 1st Annual Love Competition

As it’s Valentines week we thought it was only right to showcase some of the more “loving” videos on the web this week. This video isn’t exactly a cinematic wonder, but the concept behind it has certainly raised a few eyebrows.

It’s a video documenting a competition to find out who can express the most “love” through observing brain activity during a fMRI scan. If your eyebrows aren’t raised already they will be after you’ve watched it.

Happy Valentines Day From MTV

We love a good animation, and the guys and girls at MTV’s Liquid Productions have produced a short, sweet animation for the Valentines season. As you’d expect from the MTV crew the video does deal with a topic of an intimate nature, but when it’s discussed by two very adorable bears you can’t help but enjoy the very sweet sentiment behind it.

Is Your Boyfriend Vegan?

PETA has created some fantastic campaigns to promote vegetarianism in its time, and this time around they are looking to spread awareness about the benefits of having a vegan lifestyle.

Now we must warn you this video is very risqué, even YouTube recommends users be over 18 to watch its content. The reason for this warning is because that intimate topic discussed by those sweet bears in the video above, is an activity that a male can really excel at if he’s powered by a vegan lifestyle…apparently.

Needless to say this campaign is highly provocative and extremely controversial. Luckily this controversy is creating an awful lot of buzz for PETA, which is really helping to spread awareness about both PETA, and the benefits of a vegan lifestyle.

WARNING: Scenes of an intimate and vegan nature.

Unboxing A Toyota

We’ll admit that this isn’t exactly a brand spanking new video, but after coming across it again today its brilliance just had to be included in this weeks’ update. Toyota mix comedy and simplicity seamlessly in this video, which work together fantastically to instil an overwhelming sense of comfort and trust in the viewer. Brands should take this approach more often.

The American Beer Revival

Infographics are one of the hottest pieces of visual media on the web, and now they’ve teamed up with video to make brilliant animations that are only going to make them get bigger and better. In fact the only thing better then a good infographic is an infographic about beer, or more specifically one about the revival of American beer.

We think when businesses and brands start making these sorts of infographic videos for their own statistics things will definitely start to get very exciting in the corporate video world.

The Last Waterman of Wittman

With all the new technology making modern working life simpler, it’s easy to forget about the traditional working world that is suffering as a result. Over the past few weeks we’ve highlighted videos showcasing the state of such old-fashioned businesses, and this week we bring to you a beautiful video about Wittman-based Waterman Steve Jones.

Chrome For Android

Google’s latest string of video ads for Google Chrome have been taking the web by storm. As you’d probably imagine, their latest campaign showing off Google Chrome’s integration with Android is also going down rather well too. What we particularly love about Google’s new ad is the great use of stop-motion animation, digital animation and sweet, satisfying simplicity.
