Hotel Video Production – Your Three Best Options

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

Looking to add video to your hotel’s marketing mix? Don’t know how to get started?

There are three production options you could take:

1) Hire a video production company

Professionally produced hotel videos typically costs somewhere between £500 to £2000 to produce. They usually take one day of on-site filming and about 10 days of editing time to complete.

Advantages: Production quality, control over video content
Disadvantages: Production time & fee

2) Ask your guests to film their stay

Encourage your guests to shoot videos of their stay and your hotel for campaign use. You might need to lend them a camera during their stay.

Advantages: Authentic content shot from your guest’s perspective.
Disadvantages: No control over video content filmed, logistics & time involved with managing the campaign

3) Shooting the video yourself

If you only have a small budget, you may be forced to shoot the video yourself. You can buy half decent video cameras for a few hundred pounds.

Advantages: You are in complete control. You can film at the best time, place, and re-shoot if needed.
Disadvantages: Video quality will depend on your filming ability.

In our opinion, the more video content you have to work with, the better. You may eventually want to try all three of these hotel video production methods.
